Stubenberg

When Eastern Styria becomes the Radland, the Stubenberg tourist centre is right in the middle of it. This is where the "Weinland cycle tour", which runs 400 km across eastern, southern and western Styria, crosses Lake Stubenberg with the most beautiful cycle path in the country, the Feistritztal cycle path R8. It connects the tourist highlights Herberstein, Stubenbergsee and Apfelstraße with the city of Fürstenfeld and the Almenland. Since this year's summer it has become a bit longer again and you can safely ride up to the summer toboggan run Koglhof on a newly built cycle path. It was not by chance that Schloss Schielleiten was chosen as the starting point for the mountain stage on the Pöllauberg. With 40 hectares of water, Lake Stubenberg is one of the largest and usually the warmest bathing lakes in the country. Not only swimmers get their money's worth here, at the family beach sand playground and water slide, at the east beach the diving tower, beach volleyball and some bars await the guests. Twelve restaurants can satisfy almost every culinary wish. Sailing school and amusement parks make the lake a varied leisure facility.

Only 1 km from the lake are the wildlife and the Herberstein Garden Castle. Animals from all continents, historical gardens and the nature reserve in the Klamm are a show, experience and recreation place for the whole family. Especially the cats of prey - lions, pumas, cheetahs and lynxes - can be observed wonderfully in their natural environment and experienced in motion during the commented feedings.
